Research On Multi-tenancy Network Technology For Datacenter Network

Multi-tenancy technology is a cloud computing platform technology, which makes a large number of tenants can share the same hardware or software resources. Each tenant can according to the need to use resources to configure software services, and does not affect other tenants. This paper is aimed at the research of multi-tenancy network technology for data center. Due to the current multi-tenancy technology has many problems:how to break the limitation of subnet network routing on the migration of virtual machine; virtual machine to achieve the separation of IP address and subnet position; support any migration of virtual machines within the whole network; how to achieve a large number of tenants isolated network communication. In the premise of ensuring the quality of service of tenants under the network, improve network utilization.This paper proposes a new multi-tenancy network.solution for data center. This solution is between the network layer and data link layer. Using consistent hashing algorithm and distributed hash table ring technology, virtual machine information within the tenant is stored in the same router/switch, which named address resolver in this paper. And finally with the cooperation of address resolver, To achieve isolation of virtual machines, virtual machines’communication within the same tenant and virtual machines’migration across subnet. Using the network simulation tool OPNET, the paper builds two different scale data center networks, implements the new multi-tenancy and analyses its performance.
