With the constant development of the social technology, the comprehensive application of information technology is more and more widely. Among them, the social security gradually attracted people’s attention, and the video monitoring application and research in this field has played an important role. Now computer hardware technology and software technology continues to improve, network programming technology matures, the security system towards a new direction and development, namely integrated intelligent, networked, miniaturization, single-minded. So the communication network transmission technology, video coding and decoding technology, embedded technology, these major technologies have become the core technology of digital video network monitoring.In history, the traditional video surveillance system is generally to PC machine as a basic application, the system despite the high processing speed. However, because the volume is larger, the power consumption of the shortcomings of the existence of their own, so its application is limited, practical value is not high, resulting in application is not widespread. Under these conditions, this paper designs a security monitoring system based on AMR embedded, video surveillance is the core work, compared to the traditional video monitoring system based on PC, the system has obvious advantages, that is system occupies a smaller volume, less cost, the system is safe and reliable, has higher stability and other characteristics, so the market application prospect is quite broad.ARM-S3C2440 development board selects the hardware platform of the monitoring system to complete the selection of video data acquisition camera is a CMOS camera, in this platform to design a set of embedded Linux remote video monitoring system. According to the monitoring needs of the system, the S3C2440 chip is the core board, and a hardware platform is built. After the completion of the building at the bottom of the system development environment, emphatically discusses the development of embedded applications, rely on Linux provides a new generation of v4l2 driver architecture, so as to realize the collection of video data, and based on ARM-S3C2440 chip comes with a MFC(multimedia hardware encoding and decoding module), completed the compression coding of the video data acquisition; Followed by a detailed description of the TCP / IP protocol, embedded terminal equipment and stream media server to establish a TCP session, completion of the video data is sent to the stream media server. This system also has realized the intrusion alarm function, the function is based on open source algorithm of GMG foreground detection opencv library to achieve the image motion detection, in order to determine the current background under intrusion behaviors. Finally, the function of remote video monitoring and intrusion alarm is realized by using mobile client APP.
