Study On Reported Angel Of Economic News Of Party Newspaper

This dissertation uses Guangming Daily as study case, mainly examines economic report from 2011 to 2013 on it, attempting to explore what characteristics the reported angle of these economic reports do have. Based on these characteristics, the writer attempts to real the behind reasons from the perspective of media sociology, to provide a reference for the current economic report of Party newspapers.Reporting news is a coherent process associated with making the choice which is the appropriate report angel to reporting. In this dissertation, the process of selecting report angel is divided into four parts: the angel of collecting messages, the angel of news theme, the angel of news tone, and the angel of methods reported. Through the perspective of text analysis in four respects, this dissertation found that there are four characteristics about the reported angel of these economic reports. Firstly, they are inclined to collect the messages from authoritative organizations, especially the government. Secondly, news about activities of government and national economic policies occupy a large part on the newspaper. Thirdly, most of the economic news on Guangming Daily is positive or neutral. Fourthly, there is a large amount of short news on the newspaper while the in-depth reports occupy more newspaper layout. In addition, there are some shortcomings, such as too much emphasis on government and enterprise publicity, too many economic reports about the government, but few reports on Finance and economics and lack of negative reports. Applying the research approach of media sociology, the dissertation tries to probe the reasons behind the reported angle characteristics, investigating the interaction between news production and political power, market economy and newsroom.Finally, it put some suggestions for how the party newspaper put itself in a dominant position in the competition, maintaining its mainstream. Firstly, it should pay attention to the balance of news’ propaganda value and new value the processing of selecting reported angel. Secondly, it should expand the reported coverage on economic. Thirdly, it should represent public opinion to supervise the economic environment.
