China and South Korea with their geographical proximity to each other, are heavily influenced by the culture of Chinese Confucian and therefore has great similarity. In the 80 s South Korea’s economy began to takeoff, at the same time the South Korea?s entertainment industry also began to make significant developments. Today, South Korea?s entertainment industry has begun to take shape, Korean music, dramas, variety shows, can all be seen and heard outside of the boarders of South Korea. In recent years, the "Korean Wave," has begun to rise in China, and let people see the transmission of information from South Korea and China in the entertainment industries. At the same time, many Chinese stars have choose to head to South Korea in order to further their careers, while the television programs of the two countries are also more interactive, such as the past two years. The very popular reality show in South Korea, “a parenting class” called Daddy Where are We Going, was introduced into China through Hunan Television Station. They bought the copyrights for localization of independent innovation, this reality show has been supported by many viewers, and after the broadcast has received wide acclaim from the public, to a certain extent, helping promote the development of Chinese television entertainment industry. This paper with look at the South Korean show Daddy Where are We Going and the Chinese version of Where is the Dad, comparing and analyzing of the characteristics of the reality shows from South Korea and China. Will explore the differences between China and South Korea reality shows, the production of reality shows for the future will provide a theoretical basis for the development of bilateral television entertainment industry.
