Dispatch control is the central of railway system, enhancing the train traffic control’s intelligence level and automation level can significantly improve the security, efficiency of railway transportation and also reduce the working strength of dispatcher. The core technology of train dispatch manage intelligent systems including acquirement of dispatch rules, acquirement and application of time-to-time dispatch data, and self-study of traffic dispatch knowledge. And acquirement of dispatch rules is the basis for establishing the aided dispatch decision support system which could improve the automatic level of train traffic control. This paper gives exploratory research on this field.As rough set theory has advantage of data mining, knowledge discovery and decision support, this paper introduces the rough set theory into the research field in coal heavy-haul transportation railway’s aided dispatch decision system, and establishes coal heavy-haul freight railway dispatch data mining methods based on rough set theory. The main research content is as follows:This paper analyses train adjusted process of the coal heavy-haul railway, dispatch rules, the data in Train Operation Dispatching Command System’s database. The paper establishes the rough set’s decision and condition attribute of coal heavy-haul railway dispatch control. When trains are on the conflict, the paper uses the condition that whether to change the original train’s running order as the rough set’s decision attribute. The paper analyses the relative factors of rough set’s decision attribute and chooses some factors which is adequate and has complete data as the rough set’s condition attribute. In order to improve the calculation efficiency of attribute reduction algorithms, the paper designs the conditional attribute reduction algorithms based on the genetic algorithms. Due to existence of incompatible data in the decision rules table, the paper divide the decision rules table into compatible rules table and incompatible rules table, and then give the reduction and extraction methods of decision rules.This paper takes the historical dispatch data in TDCS database of Baoshen Railway system as the basic data of data mining, applies the dispatch data mining theory and methods in this paper to do data mining, and gets the inner dispatch rules from these historical dispatch data. The research example goes further to test and verify the practicality of the dispatch data mining theory and methods put forward by this paper.
