Visualization of3D brain atlases is an important research direction in thefield of medical image3D reconstruction, compared with the traditional2Dbrain atlas,3D brain atlas has obvious advantages in clinical medical、neuralanatomy education and simulation. So in recent years it attracted attention ofbrain science workers at home and abroad. Medical image3D reconstruction hasa lot of mature algorithms, but efficiency and image accuracy of thesealgorithms is not very well when these algorithms applied in visualization of3Dbrain atlas. Therefore, research on visualization of3D brain atlasesreconstruction algorithm has theoretical significance and application value.This thesis focuses on the problem of3D reconstruction of brain atlas,analysis and compare several typical3D reconstruction algorithm, puts forwardVertex Detection Marching Cubes algorithm, constructed visualization system of3D brain atlas based on this algorithm,using brain atlas data as experimentaldata to test VDMC algorithm and system, verify the algorithm performance andsystem function. The main work of this thesis is as follows:1. The choice of3D reconstruction algorithm. According to thecharacteristics of brain atlas data3D visualization computing, compare marching cubes, isosurface ray-casting, maximum intensity ray-casting andcomposite ray-casting four3D reconstruction algorithm, the3D reconstructionsystem finally choose MC algorithm as core algorithm.2.The improvement of MC algorithm. Based on the characteristics of brainatlas data, improve MC algorithm, greatly improve MC algorithm efficiencywithout reducing accuracy. Put forward vertex detection marching cubesalgorithm, VDMC algorithm determine whether adjacent voxel containsisosurface by monitoring the eight vertices of voxel, VDMC algorithm has selfgrowth characteristic. According to the characteristics and characteristics of thebrain atlas data, skip a large number of empty voxels doesn’t contains isosurface,at the same time, in algorithm processing using stack and hash table toaccelerate boundary voxels finding, improve the efficiency of the memoryoperations of the algorithm.3.Construct visualization system of3D brain atlases. Analysis VTKpipeline mechanism, integrate VDMC algorithm into visualization system of3Dbrain atlases through pipeline processing mechanism. Using VTK imageoptimization function to improve quality of VDMC algorithm generate image,improve display efficiency, build structure of visualization system of3D brainatlases, realize2D and3D display of brain atlas, brain region distinction, brainregion name, brain region marking, user interaction and other functions, dataprocessing and user system interaction response time reaches the applicationlevel. 4.The efficiency test of VDMC algorithm processing brain atlas data.Using brainnetome atlas data as experimental data to test efficiency ofvisualization system of3D brain atlases, the experimental results show thatefficiency of VDMC algorithm processing brain atlas data is higher than originalMC algorithm, quality of brain atlas3D image generated by VDMC algorithmdoesn’t fall.
