In automatic fingerprint identification system have four processing steps,this article will befrom the second fingerprint image preprocessing of fingerprint image enhancement techniqueand method for more in-depth research.This paper focuses on the extraction of the image detail,so as to guarantee the quality of image enhancement.The main work of this paper includes:Firstly, this paper introduces the summary and analysis of the basic characteristics offingerprint details,and based on these characteristics algorithms, to put forward a kind offingerprint image segmentation algorithm based on these characteristics.The algorithm isintroducing an improved algorithm of fuzzy mean maximum entropy (SMEC).SMEC is based onthe fuzzy clustering algorithm,and improved by the MEC algorithm.Compared with thealgorithm test, we can see that this algorithm has a higher sensitivity, faster convergencespeed.The experimental results show that SMEC algorithm has a good effect for fingerprintimage segmentation.Secondly, this paper puts forward the edge detection of image enhancement based on fuzzyclustering.Using the proposed SMEC algorithm in this paper to extract image edge detailinformation, and enhance the edge.The fingerprint image is more smooth and enhanced.Finally, the paper will give the fingerprint image histogram equalization after the edgedetection.In this paper, by comparing the various advantages and disadvantages of the histogramequalization algorithm, selecting the cumulative distribution function histogram equalizationmethod. In order to make the enhanced image with higher stability, this paper shear thehistogram of the image to avoid exceedingly enhanced.This paper puts forward an improved fuzzy clustering algorithm for fingerprint imagesegmentation,at the same time, combining with the image edge detection and histogramequalization method for fingerprint image enhancement processing, considering thecharacteristics of fingerprint image fully, and realizing the double enhanced.The paper use theMatlab7.0as the test environment, compared with other strengthening methods,as we see from the final image, this method makes degree to increase in a manner,and improve the quality of theimage.The method of this paper provides a high quality of fingerprint image for the subsequentfingerprint identification,and has application value in a certain sense.
