Today, the rapid development of Internet and communication technology brings to people improved living quality and high dependency on internet as well. Through the Internet, people can communicate with everyone in the word all the time. The absence of mobility in cable network and demand for bandwidth high enough for massive resources call for high speed and reliable wireless network especially under some circumstances like subway inter-station. In this case, if high-speed and barrier-free communication among the subway stuff through the wireless network can be achieved, better service to passengers will be expected, meeting the high requirements in underground rail services.In order to achieve instant communication in this special environment, this thesis proposes an innovative, high-speed, stable and reliable wireless Mesh network between the subway stations, based on the topology combining chain with mesh networking. Moreover, an innovative business-dedicated application-level instant messaging system is developed, eliminating the commercial advertising, information leakage, user addiction and chating issues.This subway inter-station instant messaging system based on wireless Mesh Networks can reduce dramatically the costs of network deployment, post-maintenance and network expansion by adopting advanced wireless Mesh network equipments. The stability of the instant messaging system with a server/client software model is guaranteed by the high reliability of TCP protocol according to which the connections are established. To achieve instant communication with users and to achieve a server to a client user management oversight functions, thereby reducing communication costs and improve user productivity, to ensure a good and orderly working environment.Finally, I set up simulation of metro wireless Mesh network environment in the laboratory, and set up the client/server model of instant messaging systems in this environment. Through test the technical parameters of the relevant networks and the functions of instant messaging system. Through a detailed analysis of the test results, demonstrating the performance advantages of convenient communication and the functions the wireless Mesh network instant messaging system.
