In the past20years, the telecom network took a leap of the step in bandwidth and data processing ability, optical cable can meet resistance to electromagnetic interference and the demand of large capacity transmission signal. But there is a huge problem, The problem is the difficult of optical cable identification.As time goes on, the label on the cable may blur, even can fell off the cable. In addition, because of the chaos of the document management, the cost of the restriction and other factors, such as employee negligence can also cause an error when identifying optical cable. Optic cable’s communications capacity is huge, the work which people check or repair the obstacle is very difficult, once the cable obstacles is bound to cause the disruption of the system for a long time, it will bring serious economic loss. Now, the optical cable monitoring and management still exist some problem like monitoring’s workload is big and test time is too long, therefore, it is badly in need of a quick, easy method of cable identification.Optical identifier is a device which can simple rapid judgment which fiber is belong to, the first generation of optical identifier has two way of output, one is by digital tube light some number of itself to display the knock signal intensity, and the other way is output audio signal with an audio interface. The first generation of optical identifier needs two people to use at the same time in the actual application, in order to reduce the unnecessary waste of human resources, we think out the second generation optical identifier, it can be made based on the first generation of optical identifier, it can has more functions and better Realize the function of the old Such as the wireless communication function with authentication, and we can display waveform on led screen.In this paper, we discuss how to develop the second generation of optical identifier. The contribution of this thesis is as follows:First, we implementation the wireless communication module by programming the sim300module, then we develop a mobile terminal using the software we design, wireless communication with authentication can realize by software programming, we make the image shows module through add a module of serial port communication in FPGA to transport the waveform data to Image display module, and then the waveform can be displayed on the screen.Second, after produce the second generation of optical identifier, we test every function of the second generation of optical identifier, the test results show that the second generation of optical identifier can complete the function of the first generation, and meet the new demand at the same time. The second generation of optical identifier can use only one engineer when it complete optical identify function, this reduce a lot of human cost, and has definitely different with other brand of optical identifier.The last chapter summarize the function of the second generation of optical identifier, and make some assumptions to the future development of optical identifier.
