With the development of the deep ocean exploration, the Remotely Operated Vechicle (ROV)has been one of the most important means to the marine resources exploration and research. Thelauch and recovery system (LARS) is an integral part of the ROV Systems. The LARS in this paperis mainly used to lauch and recover the ROV from the deep sea reliablely and safely.Cominded with the analysis of the LARS for the ROV and technical requirements, the programof the LARS has been provided in the paper. The stress of the deep-sea umbilical has been analyzed in this paper. The paper has alsodescribed the value of the maximum load of the umbilical quantificationally and selected theappropriate umbilical. The A-frame part, base part, spooling part and winch part have been designedin this paper. During the mech structrue design of the different parts, the paper has also elaboratedthe special problems which should be focused on when you want to design the lauch and recoverysystem. Three-dimensional models of the LARS have been assembled and added the materialproperties. The stability against overturning for this design has been done in the paper. The paper givesout the influencial factors of LARS and you can get the solution procedure in detail. Through theforce analysis for the process of the LARS, the calculation methods of the overturing moments canbe finded in this paper. Based on the method of moment, stability against overturing has been builtmathematical models in the paper, the mathematical models make that four kinds of workingconditions were calculated by Maple18and the operating results have been analysed in detail whichwill be used to optimize the structure of the design. At last, the stastic analysis of the four working conditions of the LARS has been done in theSolidworks. The detail of the analysis process will be found in this paper and the simulation resultshave been explained in detail.
