"The Voice of China" is an outstanding TV reality show recently and it also opened up a new era of TV reality show. This paper analyses the discourse in Voice of China from the prospective of pragmatics, discusses the right discourse strategy in TV reality show and expand the application range of pragmatics. The research of discourse in "The Voice of China" comprise the following four aspects:First chapter,’TV reality show in China after The Voice of China’. This chapter mainly discusses the transformation of TV reality show in China since the appearance of "The Voice of China" from three aspects as the transformation of concept, the reformation of form and the introduction of excellent overseas TV reality shows. We also discuss the importance of VCR in TV reality show and briefly explain the discourse in TV reality shows as well as the proportion of discourse in several popular TV reality shows. Finally the reasons why TV reality shows are so popular in China are analyzed.Second chapter,’Features of discourse in The Voice of China in speech act theory’. The principle of speech act theory is’to talk is to act’and’talk has the function of act’. The success of The Voice of China has tight connection with the discourse in it. This chapter emphasizes the reflection and features of speech act theory of philosopher John Austin in Voice of China. We demonstrate and analyze the discourse in The Voice of China from fours aspects as subjectivity, illocutionary, finality and difference to show the success of discourse of hosts, supervisors, competitors and audiences in The Voice of China.Third chapter, "The theory of conversational implicature and The Voice of China’. Conversational implicature is a classical theory in pragmatics. Two important concepts of the theory of conversational implicature,’cooperative principle’and’politeness principle’, are both suitably for TV reality shows. This chapter mainly discusses the reflection and violation of cooperative principle as well as the reflection of politeness principle in The Voice of China. We also list an example which excessively violate the cooperative principle in Chinese Idol to demonstrate the violation limitation of cooperative principle and discuss how to properly apply the cooperative principle and politeness principle.Fourth chapter,’face strategies and The Voice of China’. The Voice of China is a TV music reality show which faces the whole society and all the members in the show wants to take proper politeness strategy tomaintain everyone’s face. Faces are divided into positive face and negative face in face strategy. This chapter mainly demonstrate the successful face strategy in The Voice of China as well as the violation of negative face in it.
