At present, Wireless communication system spans all over the world, and becomes more intertwined with people’s daily life. With More and more information transmits on wireless, the timeliness of information requirements wireless communication systems have greater speed and larger capacity, which makes frequency spectrum resource become more and more scarce. In recent years, ultra wideband(UWB) wireless communication system becomes the research focus in the field of communication because of its benefits on transmission rate, safety performance and anti-interference. Meanwhile, As a technique limits of the development of UWB communication systems, UWB antenna has attracted more and more attention.UWB antenna has a very wide frequency bandwidth and transmits narrow pulse signals, which makes UWB antenna performance parameters are different from the traditional antenna’s. In addition to guarantee high performance indexes, UWB antenna also need to reduce its volume to apply in the widely used UWB communication portable equipment. According to the application of UWB antenna, the work of this thesis is mainly divided into two parts: 1. UWB planar antenna is studied, and two UWB monopole antennas are designed, with a work frequency bandwidth coverage of 3.1~10.6GHz; 2. A novel triple band-notched UWB planar antenna is designed with a work frequency bandwidth coverage of 3.1~10.6GHz.First, based on the basic theory of planar antenna, two kinds of planar monopole antenna with ultra wideband characteristics are designed and simulated. Micro-strip lines feed mode and coplanar wave-guide feed mode are used respectively, and both of their feeding line are have used a linear gradient type structure. The simulation results show that these two kinds of antennas are in excellent impedance characteristics, good radiation characteristics, and good agreement in the working frequency band, which can be used in UWB wireless communication system.Then aiming at the complex communicating environment, a triple band-notched UWB planar antenna is designed to prevent the mutual interference between the UWB communication system and other communication system. The trapped wave bandwidths are formed by using slot coupling method and stub loaded filter method to cover the bandwidths of Wi Max(3.3-3.6GHz), WLAN 5G(5.15-5.825GHz) and the uplink bandwidth X-band(7.9-8.4GHz). The simulation results show that the antenna is good and omni-directional in radiation characteristic in working frequency band, which is suitable for application in the UWB communication systems.Finally, the application of UWB antenna in body area network is studied. The electromagnetic environment of human body and the specific absorption rate(SAR) are described. And one of the antennas in the article is simulated in the vicinity of the human body. Its radiation characteristics to the human body are showed in the article.
