With the development of technology and science, three-dimensional measuring technology has been improved. This technology is used in many fields, for instance, measurement of surveying and mapping, reverse engineering, mold designing and etc. Now we have a variety of 3D measurement methods, among which laser triangulation 3D shape measurement is one of the most widely used methods. In this paper, the laser triangulation method is used, it is an optical non-contact 3D measurement method. A line-laser is used as the light source, vertically projecting onto the surface of the measured object. The position relationship between cameras and the line-laser is relatively fixed. Images are captured by cameras, then we reconstruct the 3D contour of the measured object by analyzing and calculating images.Contents of this paper are mainly including the following four aspects:1. Designed and built the structure of this measuring system, which is composed by a line-laser, an industrial camera, a stepper motor and a computer.2. Studied the geometry model of cameras and methods to calibrate cameras, completed the calibration based on the structure of this measuring system and obtained the parameters of the system.3. Developed the software platform of this system, including image acquisition module, image processing module and 3D reconstruction module, realized the whole process of 3D scanning.4. Conducted a series of experiments by different objects, different scanning angles to test the system.
