With the rapid development of Internet, and the widespread application of the personal network terminal equipment, digital works have been used more and more widely, and become an indispensable part of people’s life. At the same time, the corresponding digital works trading market as an economy industry have developed rapidly, and created remarkable economic and social value.In the development process of the digital works trading market, there exists security risk for trading information all the time. Generally, the digital works are sold by seller agent. In order to guarantee the interests of both parties, the third parties are created and responsible for the supervision and information recording. However, the unreal or loss of transaction information stored in a party would cause a copyright disputes in the parties to the transaction in actual operations inevitably. If the problem is not solved in time, it would directly affect the order of the trading market of digital works. At this point, if we get the real and reliable transaction information, and have the reliable program of data recovery, these insecurities will be solved.This paper put forward a data preservation mechanism for the digital works transactions. Combined with the characteristics of transaction process and transaction data, the formats of record, safe storage strategy and the reliable recovery strategy were all designed. Then according to the design plan, the data preservation mechanism was divided into two parts, the data storage part and data recovery part. Each part also could be subdivided into functional modules, and finally carried out. The research of the paper were as follows.Firstly, we studied the current typical network security transaction models based on third-party, and analyzed these models’ working mechanism, then pointed out the existing security issues of forging and losing transaction information. We proposed three requirements for the issue, including defining tripartite recording format for ensuring the math of recording information, using independent memory module benefits unrelated party designed for ensuring authenticity of the recording information and comparing the record information of the two sides to recovery third-party data for ensuring transaction information recovered reliability.Secondly, based on three requirements raised for the trading information security issues, we proposed the basic framework of a mechanism for data preservation. Combining with the detailed analysis of the transaction process for digital works, we proposed general design for data preservation mechanism for digital works deal. Then we combined the specific characteristics of the transaction data defining the format of the record, and a storage scheme projected to use of the transparent operating characteristics of the counter and a reliable recovery program for resuming third-party data by utilizing the comparison of two records. Finally, according to the feature of trade tripartite store data storage strategy of transaction record and the data recovery scheme, we analyzed the credibility.Thirdly, overall implementation process of the data preservation mechanism was demonstrated in this section and the process of amending the counter was highlighted. Data preservation mechanism was divided into each module implemented by function. By constructing a digital works trading environment and simulated the trading process, the safe storage function could be verified by compared with the transactions records from the third parties. The availability of the data recovery function could be verified by compared the data from any trading part with the recovered data from the transactions records. And the efficiency of the storage section and recovery section was tested.In this paper, data preservation mechanism for the digital works transactions has been successfully designed and implemented. It resolved the credible, reliable problem of transaction data in the transaction process, and can lay the foundation for dispute resolution. The mechanism proposed can be used in other similar transaction model and has universality.
