Wireless Nanonetwork is a new kind of wireless sensor networks which is composed of nano equipment. Due to the nanoscale size of nano nodes, it is convenient to deploy them in narrow spaces to complete more meticulous monitoring work. As the preferred band of wireless nanonetwork electromagnetic wave communication, terahertz(0.1-10THz) band meets the requirements of communications between nano nodes, and molecular absorption loss will be generated by transmission media. Hence, by given the structure characteristics of nano-sensor nodes and the absorption characteristic of terahertz electromagnetic wave, the traditional wireless communication model is no longer applicable for nanonetwork. In this paper, based on the wireless nanonetwork application scenarios and the characteristics of nano-sensor nodes, the terahertz communication model is built for wireless nanonetworks from the perspective of energy consumption, under the consideration of path loss and molecular absorption loss of terahertz electromagnetic wave.This specific work is as follows:(1) According to the transmission characteristics of terahertz wave, molecular absorption model was built on the theory of atmospheric molecular absorption, which was based on the molecular composition of the transmission medium. In two different scenarios of free space and the reflection path, the terahertz communication channel model was established with molecular absorption model. Finally, the energy consumption of the transmission channel model was analyzed respectively in different molecular compositions and communication distances. The analysis results showed that the energy consumption for molecular absorption is an important element for the total energy consumption of electromagnetic wave in the THz band, and verified the reliability of the established channel model.(2) Based on the composition of energy consumption of nano node, the energy consumption model of transceiver was built. Under the consideration of packet retransmission mechanism, the energy consumption optimization model for reducing the energy consumption of units bit data transmission was proposed, which was based on established units bit data transmission energy model and the limited energy of nano-nodes. The optimization model was optimized by the communication distance and the data packet structure, and then verified in different modulation mechanisms. Different to the optimization mechanism from network layer and MAC layer, this energy optimization model could reduce the transmission energy consumption by choosing the optimal communication distance and optimal packet structure, which based on the physical layer and node hardware circuit.
