With the development of technology,human spaceflight activities is increasing.A lot of data including orbit data, attitude data,etc will be produced during the flight of space target. However it is difficult to get these data effectively used by conventional methods. Visual simulation of space target flight can simulate the process of the space target flight, and it can provide realistic 2D and 3D graphics, which greatly facilitates researchers’ analyzing.STK is a satellite tool kit developed by AGI, which is widely used in spaceflight and aviation. It has a strong analytical calculation engine and 3D visualization engine. In this thesis, we deal with the visualization of target space flight, focus on the secondary development of application using STKX component which is offered by STK. Then we build the visual simulation software platform based on STK, and integrate the optical scattering calculation module and space-based optical surveillance system module into the presentation software. Finally, the simulation results of the whole system is given.Research works in this paper are summarized as follows:1.Building the visual simulation software platform which is based on STK. In order to development the application software,we use C# language to build a graphical user interface, and integrate the STKX component into the software. Then, an introduction to the overall structure of the software was made. The entire software architecture can be divided into three parts: the three-dimensional display control module, STK Object Management module and the module to be integrated in. Then the procedure of which the main objects was created was analyzed. Next, the control of rockets’ model switching and articulation was discussed in detail. Finally, the scenario control function and other three-dimensional display function has been described along with the STK scenario synchronization control modes.2.The integration of optical scattering calculation module. In this part, the definition of geocentric, target and launch coordinates are described, and the deduction of conversion formula between these different coordinate systems is made. Then, the basic theory of the calculation of optical scattering characteristics by a moving space target and the visibility analysis between the space target and satellite are studied.STSS constellation is simulated, and the optical scattering calculation module is integrated into the software platform. Next, the module execution process is analyzed, and the principle of data graph synchronous display is discussed in detail. Finally, demonstrate the scene, and carry on the correlate analysis.3.The integration of space-based optical monitoring demonstration system. First, analysis the role of the six parameters which determine the satellite orbits, and add three satellites to the scenario, theses satellites can track and monitor the whole process of the space target flight. Then the three main modules: data reading, STK scenario creation and data display control are described. Finally, based on the specified chart data processing, several pseudo color coding method was studied, and also their color display effect were compared. More than that, we improved the algorithm, and achieved good color display.
