With the rapid development of social economy, the requirement of precision which people use in indoor wireless location has become increasingly higher. In the complex indoor environment, the precision of indoor location is greatly reduced because of the influence of the multipath and non line-of-sight.Ultra Wide-Band technology has a lot of advantages, such as low power, anti-multipath interference ability, high security, low system complexity, especially high precision in location. It has become a potential technology of indoor wireless location system. Therefore, there is important application value in the study of ultra-wideband indoor location system.Based on the ultra-wideband wireless communication theory, this paper analyze technical characteristics and channel models of ultra-wideband signals and study UWB wireless location methods. By studying the time difference of arrival(TDOA) location technology, which commonly used algorithms are Taylor algorithm and Chan algorithm, we propose a joint location method based on the Taylor and Chan algorithms and apply it to the indoor ultra-wideband wireless location. A simulation of indoor ultra-wideband wireless location algorithm has been completed by comparing the different of the three algorithms. With the FPGA development platform, this paper complete the design of transmitter and receiver of indoor ultra-wideband wireless location system. The design uses a spread spectrum communication to process the baseband signal processing and focuses on the synchronized capture principle of spread spectrum code sequence. With the description of the function and design principles of each module, we use Verilog language to design and simulate each part of the transmitter and receiver in indoor UWB location system.
