In the past few years, wireless communication has experienced significant development,and brought opportunities and challenges to Wireless Mesh Network(WMN). WMN is a new development direction in the field of wireless communication, and it is more and more popular in the commercial application, but at the same time, it has many problems which need to be perfected. Dynamic address configuration is the first step in its practical application, and load balancing is an important factor to improve the performance of network. Therefore the dynamic address configuration and load balancing routing protocol in Wireless Mesh Network are important topics of current research. Moreover, with the popularity of intelligent terminals, how to run Mesh protocol on intelligent terminals, is now a technical difficulty need to overcome in order to expand the application scope of Mesh network.Firstly, WMN and its network structure, research status and research significance are described in this dissertation. Secondly, LTMRP(Layer Two Mesh Routing Protocol) as Mesh routing protocol used in this dissertation is focused on. Thirdly, the methods to transplant LTMRP protocol to Android and Open Wrt are explored, and the Mesh experimental platform based on the two systems is built for testing. Transplanting Mesh protocol to intelligent terminals and combining these terminals with Mesh routers to build the Mesh network, not only extends the application scope of Mesh network, but also lays the foundation for validating the feasibility of dynamic address allocation mechanism and testing the performance of the load balancing algorithm. Then,considering the practical application and the characteristics of WMN, a kind of dynamic address auto-configuration mechanism DAAC based on LTMRP protocol is proposed.The proposed mechanism combining with the routing protocol, considers IP allocation,conflict and solution, network segmentation and fusion. Meanwhile, it ensures the uniqueness of IP address and realizes dynamic setting of default gateway routing at each node. The DAAC mechanism is realized in LTMRP protocol, and its feasibility is proved by testing. Finally, the load balancing algorithm in Wireless Mesh Network is researched, and load balancing routing protocol LB-LTMRP(Load Balancing LTMRP)based on LTMRP is presented and implemented. The link availability is defined in this protocol to reflect the weight of the network load, and its weighted value with the number of hop, link reliability and other indicators is used as the routing metric standard.The experimental results show that, the proposed LB-LTMRP has higher throughput and lower delay than LTMRP when the network load is heavier, and enhances network performance.
