This paper studies linear array and circular array consisted of dipole, respectively, analysis antenna array in two cases: not consider mutual coupling and consider mutual coupling. Differential evolution algorithm is used to synthesize the low side-lobe pattern.First, we use the method of moments(MOM) based on the piecewise sinusoidal basis functions and Galerkin method to calculate a single dipole unit. Then with the results of simulation software FEKO were compared, as FEKO is calculated based on the method of moments, the two results are comparable. So it can verify the correctness of the above-mentioned method of moments.Secondly, we use the above method of moments to calculate uniform linear array(ULA) and uniform circular array(UCA) consisted of dipole, and compare with the simulation results from FEKO software to prove its effectiveness. Then compare with the patterns of above two arrays without considering the mutual coupling. It proved that they are almost the same on the main lobe pattern, the farther away from the main lobe, the difference more obvious, when considering mutual coupling, sidelobe ratio is higher than that when without considering mutual coupling. Finally, we optimize the two arrays for low sidelobe pattern based on differential evolution algorithm(DEA), and compare with the array optimization results without considering the mutual coupling. It is proved that optimization without considering the mutual coupling, even if using the same model and incentive, differences of calculated pattern will be great. For generalized impedance matrix of a circular array is a Block-Circulant Matrix(BCM), a new fast solution method of inverse of Block-Circulant Matrix inverse is used to improve the optimize efficiency of circular array based the method of moments.
