Digital image enhancement is a general designation for several kinds of image processing, which purpose is to highlight the information in an image we need. At the same time, it can weaken the useless information. Image enhancement methods are all from the scope reinforcement, and methods can be divided into spatial enhancement and enhancement in frequency domain. This essay is based on the space domain image enhancement.Since we have higher requirements for the image quality, which is to say the image contains more information, we have a higher request for the storage space and the capacity of the transmission channel. In the existing image compression technology, it is how to get the maximum image compression ratio of the image and minimize the loss that we need to study. Nowadays, most of the segmentation algorithm is aimed at specific problems, and there is no general segmentation algorithm suitable for all images. In addition, there is no standard segmentation algorithm. All these problems are to be solved.Image segmentation is a key step from image processing to image analysis. Also, it occupies an important position in image technology. Image segmentation is helpful for the measurement of the characteristics of the target image. In addition, it is based on the the expression of the target, feature extraction and parameter measurement. An image can be transformed from the original state to a relatively abstract and compact form, which is conducive to the further image analysis and comprehension. Therefore, we need to find a fast calculation speed and high accuracy rate of image segmentation algorithm.In this paper, three parts, which are the image enhancement, image segmentation and image compression coding, are studied. Additionally, through the MATLAB toolbox, er can simulate and analyze these parts.
