This paper made a systematic research and exposition for the microstrip antenna elements and array. Also on the basis of the Taylor series and its design method, designed a K band planar antenna array which is applied to the highway speed measuring radar. Detailed design methods, theory and design process. Processing and made physical, and do performance testing. The specific content of this paper are as follows:1. Introduce and analysis the basic theory of microstrip antenna, based on this theory, design of a kind of slotted microstrip patch elements that is applied to K band tablet doppler radar antenna array.2. Introduce and analysis the basic theory of microstrip antenna array, mainly is the theory and method of feed network design, build on this to work out the K band tablet doppler radar antenna array of the feed network.3. Combing the element and array that simulated respectively, design a K band planar antenna array used for speed measuring radar, through the simulation results compared with the design requirements to determine the design dimensions, then making real object and analysis the actual test results. The actual test results meet the design requirements.
