In modern times, with the rapid development of multimedia technology, the use of the network to transmit messages make the communication more convenient. But the information security issues are also serious increasingly while providing the convenience. Many experts and scholars dedicate to the research in the field of information security. Among them, the information hiding technology is one of the important research technology, which attracting much attention.Steganography is an important research direction of information hiding technology, its purpose is to make the transmission of secret information more private and secure. Based on the existing steganographic algorithm, this paper designs a new embedded numerical method:the remainder imbedding’s method, which provids a new idea for the research in the field of steganographic algorithm. The specific work is as follows:1. Discussing some basic theoretical knowledge of information hiding technology, such as the background, the significance, the development status, steganography and steganalysis principles. This paper studies deeply in some traditional steganographic algorithm and steganalysis method.2. When the hidden information is discrete, owing to the existing disadvantages of least significant bit embedded numerical method, a new steganographic algorithm is put forward:the remainder steganographic algorithm based on discrete values embedded. The algorithm designs a remainder mapping table, the remainder of the carrier value is modified to the random value within a range based on it. At the same time, modifying the quotient of the carrier value to make sure that the carrier value is approach before and after embedding information. The design of the remainder mapping table is free, so the steganographic algorithm becomes more secure. In addition, the steganographic domain of the traditional algorithm is relatively fixed, and lacks of flexibility, the wavelet domain is used to embed hidden information. Finally, the comparison of experiments with traditional steganography shows that the algorithm has good invisibility, anti-detection ability, robustness, security and large embedding capacity.3. When the hidden information is continuous, the traditional way uses the code to approach the original values, then uses the least significant bit to embed. However, this method will lead to the loss of information, and will reduce the security. So this paper devises a new steganographic algorithm:the remainder steganographic algorithm based on continuous values embedded. This method dosen’t need to encode the original values, so it will not cause the loss of information, and the use of the remainder mapping table to make embedded values flexibility, thereby, increases the concealment and security of the algorithm. Experiments show that the algorithm has good invisibility, anti-detection ability, security and large embedding capacity.
