Wireless location is one of the core technologies of Wireless Sensor Network. In many applications, the accuracy of the location is the precondition of the useful of data information the node collected. Under the premise of cost limits, improve the accuracy of wireless sensor node position has crucial significance. In this paper, we introduce the basic concept and characteristics of wireless sensor network, and then expound the wireless sensor network positioning problem research status at academics. Then several typical wireless sensor network location technologies has been introduced. Then we analyze reasons of the location error of Dv-Hop algorithm and Dv-Distance algorithm. For Dv-Hop algorithm, we propose an approach to estimate the distance between the node based around the node density, then use the average jump distance between source node and destination node instead of the strategy used in traditional algorithm which uses average jump distance from nearby anchor nodes. This algorithm Leverages the density of nodes around to improve the accuracy of distance estimation stage. For Dv-Distance algorithm, we analyzed the situation due to errors caused by different paths, proposed an estimation algorithm that based on the distance of different paths between node and the anchor node, thereby balanced the error of different paths to locate the node.In this paper, a method that based on circle focus is used to replace the three-step location or maximum likelihood estimation in the location phase to avoid affection by the point that has more error in estimating the distance to reduce the error in the location phase. Then each of the two improved algorithms is simulated and their performance is analyzed in MATLAB.
