The Independent Critique was found in the 1930s, by Hu Shih and a group of scholars from famous universities and academic institutions in Peking and other district. The magazine published not only its own members’ writing articles, but also with an open attitude to accept manuscripts and letters from all over the country. Its existence in the five years (1932-1937) which is China’s Political critical period we face domestic and overseas. Under the special historical background, how to guide public opinion and undertake patriotic responsibilities is obviously of great significance for those intellectuals. It can be said that the magazine is excellent on behalf of the intellectuals in the 1930 s to participate in public affairs.As a political magazine, its articles not only discuss political problems, but also involved in education, science, culture and the political problems. Not only political commentary, but also book reviews, travel notes, novels and other types of articles. In the face of different topics, core journal authors have differences also have consensus, but stick to let China into the modern world on track as soon as possible of the bottom line. The Independent Critique of the core authors talking about politics and still got the responsibility of the public of enlightenment.This paper choose to set up a magazine intellectuals as the breakthrough point of the research, and set the "independent club" core authors writing and controversy as the main object of study by using the text data analysis method. Trying to learn about the magazine’s speech style and the intellectuals of that time period by analyze the core author groups writing of The Independent Critique.
