All along, in a variety of video coding processing solutions, the performance’s improvement or limit is depend on the performance of the hardware processors and video processing algorithms. We can say that the performance of the video processor and the ability of the algorithm determined the performance of video processing solutions.On the hardware platform, in order to provide a high-performance processing platform for video processing solutions, the video processor’s architecture and performance are in constant development. In recent years, the TI company has launched a heterogeneous multicore processors TMS320DM8168, the processor can represent the highest processing power of all the video processor in the world. Meanwhile, the multi-channel video coding framework McFW in DM8168 is currently the most complex programming framework.H.264 occupied the main market in all video compression standards, it is also one of the most meaningful coding standards for research and development. The design uses the H.264 to perform video compression in this video processing program. Combined the structural characteristics of the DM8168 hardware platform, exerted the features of each sub-modules, and divided the system into multiple sub-modular management. We put it be distributed to different subsystems in accordance with the characteristics of each step from the capture to the display, this reduces the load single-processor operation, greatly enhance the overall efficiency of the system. Meanwhile, based on the study of working principle in the different processors, the study of communications of messages and mechanisms of data sharing, designed and implemented a complete project chains. In addition, we packed algorithm which is optimized to the chains of the project, to realize the video processing on ARM+HDVPSS+DSP multicore heterogeneous platforms. And validate the superiority of this program by contrast with the video processing solutions in Single-core processors.
