The semiconductor laser have a series of advantages, likea small volume, long working life, a compact structure, high transform efficiency, high stability and its output easily modulate through the power. These advantages make it wide attention in the field of optoelectronic. The semiconductor laser become the major development direction of solid-state lasers, and made it a wide range of application in many fields of military, communications, material processing, medical.Accompanied by the development of controlling technology, automation control has been widely used in various fields. With the development of high-power semiconductor laser technology, the establish of laser system become more complex. Therefore, customer need a control system to integrate each part of modules of the entire laser system.Based on the analysis of each controlled object of the high-power laser system, and the knowledge of the need of the entire laser system, I designed the Remote control system of high-power laser system based on the CompactRIO from National Instruments. The control system takes full advantage of the virtual instrument, using the RIO chassis can quickly access the underlying resources’ characteristic to design and optimize the synchronizing signal generator. Through the data stream parallel processing mechanism, Lab VIEW achieved the synchronous operation of data sending, receiving and processing. The control system constituted by the PC side and RT side, and the communication between them based on Ethernet. PC side is used for man-machine interface and sending commands. RT side is used for controlling the equipment from the laser system and applying the synchronization signal to the pulse current source.The main work includes:subjects background, the formulation of design scheme, the controller selection, the hardware design of control system, the software design of control system, the software design of each functional submodule in control system and the communication protocol design between PC and Real-Time controller.
