University Library And Campus Reading Literacy Research

This research studies reading habits of university students,popularity of the network reading and demand for libraries, by using quantitative analysis methods on the survey of undergraduate and graduate students from five universities in Qiqihar of Heilongjiang Province, in order to explore the culture and activities of campus reading in universities to carry out the situation, summarize the characteristics and propose constructive advices. This research bases on an extensive literature review and in-depth discussions with some of the surveyed to campus reading relationship with readers to investigate the relationship between campus reading and readers. We find that not all readers are willing to be in the physical libraries and must admit that the libraries still look like big study halls even in the process of growing individualized reading, which means that some readers don’t use, or aren’t familiar to,special services of libraries, such as reference, push technology and so on.In this situation, in order to maintain the reading motivation of university students, we make three advices: Library Services Construction, Library System Construction and Campus Reading Mental Construction. These ideas are to encourage campus reading cultural fat more sustainable by exciting both libraries and readers.
