The company uses commercial Onebug system to manage life cycle of bugs and assgin some tasks about debuging. But Onebug system can’t meet some requirements such as tracking bugs and collecting statistical data. For the shortcomings of this system and combining with actual works, we need to implement a new bug tracking system at the base of Onebug system. This system can provide perfect bug tracking and counting functions. And the company now promotes the concept of "service","platform". This bug tracking system is an experimental project and needs to provide experience for follow-up work. Therefore, the company developes a REST Web Service-based bug tracking system, which uses common frameworks such as Hibernate, Spring, Restlet, AJAX technology. The system has great scalability and reusability. And it also provides REST Web Service, what is "service" concept. This paper will introduce the background, the use of technology, requirements analysis, outline design, detailed design and implementation of some module and the outlook of the system to have a good knowledge of the purpose of the system. First, this paper introduces background of the system. Then, it introduces some technologies. After that, it uses UML to analyze the requirements. Then, it explains the whole design of the system with choices of key technologies and a overall structure diagram. About module design, it divides the system into client side and sever side and explains UI design and design patterns that the modules used. After, it introduces the implmentation of Web client,Outlook add-in,the whole implmentation of the server side, database implmentation, important modules design and some important technologies. In the end, it sums up the article and prospects the future work.
