With the explosive growth of digital information, the requirements of storage capacity and reliability of the system are going to be higher and higher. In this context, traditional storage systems are increasingly unable to meet the demands of the information age and Storage Area Network (SAN) obtained rapid development and wide application. SVC (SAN Volume Controller), which has no quality of service function, is a midrange SAN controller of IBM. As a result, when the throughput is close to the system limit, system performance significantly deteriorated. In order to improve performance of SVC under high load, QoS control is needed in the system, so SVC can provide different levels of service for different users or different applications. This article is developed upon this project. In order to implement QoS in SVC, different properties 10 must be flow-controlled. This project is based on Token-bucket and custom queue, the main work of the article is as follows:1) Comparing and analyzing several service models related to QoS, elaborating implementation technique and related flow control technique.2) For SVC system, requirement analysis and design is done for QoS models.3) Implementing all models of QoS in SVC system. The implementation of interceptor sub-module, classifier sub-module, traffic shaping sub-module and log module is described in detail. And actual test case is provided.
