As industrial automation has developed from a low speed and precision to high speed and precision, on the control system for data collection and transmission of real-time demand is more, the existing bus is already cannot satisfy the demand of the industrial automation so that the industrial Ethernet technology receives more and more attention. However the standard Ethernet CSMA/CD mechanism makes it communication is uncertain, so a lot of manufacturers improved the technology on the basis of standard Ethernet technology and have given the birth of Ethernet POWERLINK, EthernetCAT, etc. POWERLINK have gained a lot of attention because of its high speed excellent performance,open source,easy to implement,platform diversity,without limit by the professionalchip.The research of Ethernet POWERLINK has important practical significance to the development of real-time industrial Ethernet and bus protocol.This paper completed the research of Ethernet POWERLINK stack, streamline the protocol stack on the Windows, implement the Ethernet POWERLINK redundancy scheme based on the parallel redundancy protocol,thus further improve Ethernet POWERLINK reliability.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)First introduces the developing situation of the profibus and the Ethernet POWERLINK, and compares the Ethernet POWERLINK with other profibus to demonstrate the Ethernet POWERLINK feasibility and application prospect in the field of fieldbus through muti-angle.(2)In view of the EPL protocol stack architecture is studied and learn from the related theory of network protocol stack. To help the part of this paper behind, make out the constitute of the protocol stack and communication mode.(3)Ethernet POWERLINK is a both in performance and functionality which has many characteristics of real-time Ethernet protocol.Open source code contains a lot of features and it is helpful for its study of the redundancy scheme later by analyzing its communication principle and characteristics.In this paper,the principle and characteristics are introduced.(4)According to the feasibility of EPL problem,this paper deals with the evaluation.The protocol can be achieved in many platform and most familiar with the Windows platform,and can be directly portable to other platforms.So this paper choose to running the protocol stack on the Windows for evaluation.Evaluation results show that the EPL is an easy to implement,simple,high performance of the protocol stack.(5)Ethernet POWERLINK is based on standard Ethernet,so can make use of Ethernet redundancy mode,poor reliability at the same time.To solve this problem,this paper research to achieve Ethernet POWERLINK redundancy scheme based on parallel redundancy protocol at the medium level,undisturbed communication advanced.(6)Finally, to make sure of the feasibility of this redundancy scheme,run the Ethernet POWERLINK redundancy scheme on the Windows to confirm the feasibility and reliability by Winpcap.
