With the rapid development of computer technology, CAD/CAM technology was the essential tool on the design work. Traditional CAD/CAM technology was from design, modeling, and then the development of products. Now, the reverse engineering was applied more widely. The object surface data of physical model were obtained by collection tool,and processed data, and realized improvement and reconstruction of model. Surface reconstruction was the key technology in reverse engineering.Bezier surface and B-Spline surface were usually used in surface reconstruction. Because the Bezier surface can’t be modified locally,and B-Spline surface possess all of the advantages of Bezier surface, and the local modification is well. The B-Spline is used widely to surface reconstruction in reverse engineering. The algorithm of B-Spline surface reconstruction was researched in the paper.Firstly, the research status and the application of reverse engineering, the research and development of B-spline surface were introduced in the paper. The theoretical basic of B-Spline including the mathematical model and properties were illustrated detail in the paper.Secondly, the algorithm of three times quasi uniform B-Spline surface construction based on the reverse control point was put forward on the base of mesh partition of cloud data, and designed data structure, defined the basic concept, solved the problem of CM mesh points storage and data sort, and analyzed the boundary condition.Then, the realization processing of the surface reconstruction algorithm based on the reverse control point was designed.The problems of the selection of point, and node parameters, and the equation of control points solved with the method of chase after were researched and realized. The problems that the conflict of feature points and the conflict of points were solved in the process of realization. The program was edited and debugged by using C++ language in the VS2008 environment, and gave running results of algorithm. The realization of the algorithm shows that the algorithm is feasibility and reliability, the algorithm possessed the advantages of high precision and fast speed. A new technical method is provided for reverse engineering.The single surface reconstruction was researched in the paper; many surfaces were connected in order to form a complete surface. Finally, the technology of surface splicing was researched.
