With the rapid development and application of IC and SoC, the importance of the testing and validation of the SoC is getting higher and higher, especially for the SoC with specific functions. A miniaturized, low cost and highly intergrated control module on a chip is urgently needed nowdays in the field of automation. So, the background project of this thesis is trying to study and develop the Control Module on Chip:CMC. And testing and validation of the CMC is one of the most important jobs of the project. My thesis focuses on Designing and Implementation the system-level testing and validation System of CMC.CMC system includes CMC chip, embedded software and the corresponding PC configuration and monitoring software, etc. The focus of this thesis is system-level testing and validation of the prototype CMC chip cooperating with hardware and software. Based on the industrial control oriented function of CMC on system level, including logic control based LCP and motion control based MCP, I designed the system-level testing and validation of CMC. The system includes the hardware support platform, the testing and validation platform of logic control and motion control, CMC performance testing, etc.The hardware support platform of the system is a self-designed board based on the CMC-Alpha protopyte chip, including CMC minimum system, all kinds of communication interface and the input and output interface modules. On this basis, I focused on the design and implementation of the testing and validation platform of logic control and motion control. Logic control oriented testing and validation platform adopts the method of automation test to test and validate the support of the IE61131-3 industry control programming language stardard, this platform mainly includes:automated testing framework based on CMC relevant API interface, test case design based on IEC61131-3 standard, and defect tracking system, etc. Motion control oriented testng and validation platform adopts the method of data visualization based on the monitor register of the MCP to support the testing and validation of motion control, this auxiliary monitoring platform includes custom communication mechanism, real-time two-dimensional visualization and 3D visualization based on Matlab. In addition, the CMC performance testing method is also studied, it includes CMC system-level power consumption and performance test based on PLCopen standard.Finally, according to the design in this thesis, the application of the system testing of validation and the results are discussed. In this paper, the availability of the system is verified by this discussion. The system’s performance is verified by testing and validation of the logic contrrol, motion control and CMC’s performance.
