WLAN Wireless Campus Network Design And Implementation

With the rapid develpoment of science and technology, wireless wide band network becomes more and more popular for its characteristics of celerity, high efficience and flexibility. Nowadays, the campus network has become an important part of most students and faculties’ daily life. It provides lots of convenient access to network information and resources for the university teachers and students. More and more school staffs and students have Wi Fi-enabled laptops, tablet computers and mobile phones. There is no wireless limit in classrooms, laboratories, library, large conference room, lecture hall, gymnasium, outdoor plaza and other occasions.As long as the consumers have computers and available network, they can implement data communication at any time, any place. But this means a challenge to the traditional wired computer network too. The difficulty lies on the traditional can’t meet the needs of modern users no longer. This phenomenon means the computer network will change from the wired to wireless, from fixed to mobile, from single function to multimedia services for a long time. As a conclusion, the application of wireless network is very wide during the construction of campus network.This thesis takes a comprehensive study on the wireless network construction of Hengshui Vocational and Technical College with the principle of "unified planning, phased implementation". Firstly, it carefully analyses the needs and characteristics of campus wireless network. Then, through deeply field inspections, it ensures the equipment selection, protocol standard selection, determination of networking mode etc. After that, it is the implement of the wireless network plan. Finally, the thesis discusses the wireless network performance testing and the construction of security network applications based on the testing results. In a word, the entire wireless network will mainly consider the capacity requirements and the cover of the whole college. For the fluency of wireless signal, it combines outdoor and indoor AP distribution system to construct WLAN. It eventually builds a safe college wireless network with less investment, short timescale, and high quality for Hengshui Vocational and Technical College and really realize the function of many people’s surfing on the Internet at the same timeTo any college, the construction of campus wireless network has a deep influence on its teaching method, teaching philosophy and teaching management. In conclusion, the campus network with efficiency, convenience and wide coverage will greatly improve the living and study’s efficiency of the faculty and students. What’s more, this paper can provide some references for other colleges which want to build a campus wireless network.
