LED (Light Emitting Diode) owns its characters, such as high efficiency in illumination, longevity, small in size, environmental and colorful, which makes it easily to adjust brightness and color and so on. As the development of science and technology, the traditional decorative LED has transformed from single-color and static to full-color and dynamic in the field of decorative illumination, which not only gives the credit to its own development, but also owns to the development of its driver chip. However, the driver chip has its own disadvantages, for instance, single control mode, poor control in single point and in programming the number of driven LED. The general driver chip has not satisfied the various demand of human. Based the mentioned above, this paper aims to design an ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) to drive the LED and achieve intelligent configuration.Based on introducing the development of IC (Integrated Circuits), this paper elaborate on the principle of LED display and come up with the design of double-channel and programming. Besides constant current control and Brightness adjustment, this design can also configure the address of the chip, make a roll call of some chip and program the number of driven LED.The main work of this paper is reflected in the design of digital part. There are two channels, which embraces the serial channel and parallel channel. The serial channel is aimed to transfer the address of data frame, and the parallel channel is aimed to transfer the data frame of work mode, the data frame of brightness and the data frame of making a roll call. Based on the double-channel, the design adds a signal of PWM_EN[2:0] to program the number of driven LED.
