Mural decorative patterns have many artistic creation of generality during the same period,which express at the general layout of the picture and the rules of composition of the unit elements,based on which we can classify many patterns with ambiguous age.This paper focuses on one thing being discussed and researched,which is how to make use of computer image processing technology to find out the special law of the topology named topology structure of repeated patterns in mural decorative patterns.Given a mural decoration pattern in the paper,one of repeated elements should be selected as primitive.Firstly,make edge detection on primitive and original image separately using Canny algorithm,and describe their character with SURF algorithm.Then divide the region of original image according to the two pair of feature points with the highest similarity between original image and primitive,and get the location of every primitive accurately relying on triangle property,and calculate the rotation of every primitive relative to the first primitive.The next step is to judge the types of original image according to rotations and center points.Each topology has its own set of data.Firstly,which be extracted to the simplest model.And all types of topology are expressed with the only data model.Then select one primitive and another topology structure to combine,and change some parameters to generate new graphics,which can demonstrate the effectiveness of the data model.The experimental results show that the topology structure can reflect the arrangement regulation well.What's more,this method obtains good effect in a variety of types of decorative patterns.And the new graphics with changed parameters demonstrate the effectiveness of the expression of the topology structure.
