Recently, with the popularity of digital library, rapid improvement in network user and resource, the requirements of the digital library has been improved day by day. But the traditional digital library has been under the C/S(client/server) model,server is the center of the model, the ability of storage and count is limited, so, the model can’t adapt to the requirement of large numbers of source and user in the digital library. As a new distributed network model, P2P (Peer to Peer) uses many free resources of user peers in the Internet effectively, provide more possibility for the mass storage, and have good expansibility. So, P2P is used in digital library to built a large-scale distributed application with low cost, not only can meet requirements of rapidly growing of user, but also have enough space to store source.In this thesis, firstly, it analyzes the research about digital library based on P2P, including research status and future development. Then introducing theory about P2P, comparing with C/S and analyzing the advantage of P2P, what’s more, stating architecture, analyzing overall framework based on researches. To meet requirements of many resources and users, the thesis puts up forward with a P2P storage model based on multiple circular(MCStore).In this model, it classifies the node, organizes them based on their interest area. Moreover, it analyzes the peer maintenance and data-manipulation. The main about peer maintenance is dynamic peer, including join, left and stability,the main about data-manipulation is storage, search, replica management mechanism and load balancing, and in the end it comes up with a query algorithm based on interest similarity.At last, the thesis does the simulation experiment for the model, analyzes the model from average search length and average search delay, compares with traditional Chord model. The experiment shows that MCStore is superior to the traditional Chord. Then, it summarizes the research and come up with the shortage and improvement direction.
