As an important part of electrical apparatus, electromagnetic mechanism has a dominant influence on the electrical performance and reliability, while, an accurate dynamic test for electromagnetic mechanism is the basis of optimization design of electrical apparatus. Due to the complex dynamic process of electromagnetic mechanism, and limitations of the research method, test technique and conditions etc., dynamic characteristics tests of electromagnetic mechanism in the past were two-dimensional and the movement of electromagnetic mechanism was regarded as ideal plane motion. Because three-dimensional images have spatial sense of reality and can reflect the action process of the mechanism more comprehensively and truly, it is necessary to carry on the three-dimensional dynamic test. Taking the magnetic latching relay as the research object, combining with high-speed camera and optical imaging system, two kinds of common three-dimensional dynamic test methods are proposed in this paper, three-dimensional dynamic process of electromagnetic mechanism are studied by the mathematical statistics method.Through the further analysis of binocular vision theory, a virtual binocular vision measurement system which consists of two plane mirrors with certain angle and a high-speed camera is built in this paper. An optical non-contact three-dimensional test method is proposed to research the three-dimensional dynamic characteristics of electromagnetic mechanism, thus synchronizing problem of two cameras in binocular stereo vision is solved. By homemade checkerboard, the internal and external parameters of the high-speed camera are calibrated based on the theory of virtual binocular vision, then the movement curves of the armature of electromagnetic mechanism are described after three-dimensional reconstruction by means of Matlab software. The feasibility and accuracy of the method has been verified by 2D and 3D test. The method of feature point detection and extraction based on the Image-Pro Plus image processing proposed in this paper can greatly simplify the stereo matching constraints and algorithm difficulty.Through the further study of the three-dimensional test method, a new three-dimensional dynamic test method based on single camera is proposed in this paper. The system consists of an optical imaging system and a high-speed camera. According to precise design of the light path of specular reflection, the angle of the plane mirror is controlled, and then the three-dimensional movement curves of the armature are obtained by image processing technology. The experimental results show that the test technique can accurately and comprehensively describe the actual three-dimensional movement of electromagnetic mechanism. In order to reduce the test error, a commonly used three-dimensional dynamic test device for electromagnetic mechanism is designed by means of Solidworks software based on the above two kinds of three-dimensional test methods.By analyzing and comparing the advantages, disadvantages and applications of the two kinds of three-dimensional test methods, a lot of three-dimensional dynamic data have been obtained by the three-dimensional dynamic test method based on single camera. The data of all directions of the electromagnetic mechanism armature movement are analyzed by the method of mathematical statistics. The three-dimensional basic laws of the motion of electromagnetic mechanism are concluded in the final of this paper, and it has great significance for optimization design and performance improvement of electromagnetic mechanism.
