The Improvement Of Telecommunication Equipment Embedded Software Testing Process

The telecommunication industry has achieved staggering growth rate since1990s, with the rapid development of computer hardware and software technology. It has become one of the world’s most important economic growth points. It is the embedded software which is installed in the telecommunication equipment, to make the equipment intelligent. At the same time, the carriers, the telecommunication vendors and the common customers are suffered from the constantly exposed software defects on the network. Software testing which is to ensure the quality of the software, is not only separated from software development activities, but also continuously optimized and improved, at present most project managers can carry out their own formal software testing process according to their experience. They can be first appeared V model/W model, later developed X model/H model/proactive testing model. And in the recent years, agile development, which pays attention not only on the external organization of development&testing process, but also the participants’internal initiative, is more and more popular and causes profound influence on the whole software industry.In order to optimize the process management of the project, this paper firstly studies the theory of process management and software testing process model. Secondly by analyzing the embedded software project and the organizational characteristics of the project, finds out some management problems to be resolved, such as the organizational effectiveness, the staged activities, the milestone issues and document management. Thirdly, through the stakeholder analysis, finds out the proper process improvement strategy. Then according to the:haracteristics of embedded software and various kinds of software testing models, economically develops a set of embedded software testing process improvement scheme, including: the personnel organization, document management method and test activities design. After analyzing the real case of testing process improvement implementation, all the practice and effectiveness are introduced. Finally, difficulties and suggestions are offered.
