Qingyang Branch of China Petrochemical Corporation is a large scale enterprise of oil refining in Gansu province. Qingyang Branch not only engages in manufacture, but also possesses schools and housing. For the well operation of the Braches’production and schools, hundreds of application systems are needed to be deployed. However, with the gradual mature of virtualization technology, nowadays the idea of cloud computing enjoys more popular support. Undoubtedly, the idea of cloud computing and the virtualization technology are fitted for settling the existing problems of Qingyang Branch in constructing information system. Starting from this point of view, the writer of this paper has conducted a detailed study on the present virtualization technologies. By taking advantage of virtualization technologies and meanwhile with fully consideration of the companies’demands, the present writer has designed a virtual information system pattern from data centers to terminals, tailored to Qingyang Branch, and has deployed it from the virtual machine up to the application. The application of the technologies and the research findings in Qingyang Branch has simplified its operation and maintenance management, and thus saved the support resources for the management. In the end, the successful application has substantially brought down the quantity of hardware equipment, and significantly increased the service efficiency of server system. Notably, the use of desktop virtualization in assembly lines and offices has not only reduced the complexity of terminal maintenance and also strengthened the safety of using desktop terminals.
