Electronic sewing machine is an intelligent sewing which contains computer technology, electronic technology, machining technology and CNC.etc. With the increasing of labor costs, the demand of sewing market is growing faster and fester. But the properties of electronic sewing machine need to be improved. In order to improve the efficiency and quality of sewing machines, two problems about inputting patterns and planning path must be solved. Therefore, a new method is proposed which is to use digital image processing technology to explore new ways to obtain patterns. Extraction and vectorization of patterns are achieved. At the same time, because of some defects are appeared in the sewing path which is arrangemented according to the input sequence. The main contents of article as follows:Firstly, during the pre-processing stage of image, we get the binary image.according to the characteristics of the processed image, shell edge detection algorithm is proposed, and the whole image can be contour extraction. The experimental results show that the method can be efficiently and accurately detect the boundary. Secondly, based on the triangle high tired and corner detection algorithm, in which, on the corner determination threshold value to determine depth study of each contour line is separated by detecting the corner, and the separation of the dollar figures were vectorization. Finally, we put the sew path optimization problem into Chinese Postman problem, a mathematical model is established, the sewing path is optimized combined with minimum weight perfect matching. Simulation result shows that the efficiency of inputting pattern is greatly improved by using of image processing methods to extract pattern design, it has achieved remarkable results remarkable results in terms of reducing air shift after obtaining the vector pattern design path optimization.
