The distributed optical fiber sensing technology uses optical fiber as the sensing element and transmission medium, and has a fairly promising applicative prospect in Structural Health Monitoring(SHM) for its low cost, long distance, all-round distribution and easiness in network building. Thereinto, Brillouin Optical Time Domain Reflectometer(BOTDR) realizes the distributed sensing on the basis that the frequency shift variation of the spontaneous Brillouin scattering is of a linear relation to the variation between temperature and strain, thus has been a hot research point at present. It has been several years since the commercialization of the BOTDR, however the existing BOTDR commercial products emphasize more on experimentally off-line measurement mode, which relies on the professioals to operate and lacks functions of automatic warning and data management, thus cannnot work well with the existing security and protection system. This thesis makes theoretical analysis on the BOTDR and designed a software based on the NJUB-1200 Brillouin distributed optical fiber sensing system self-developed by the optical communication engineering research center of Nanjing University on the virtual instrument development platform Lab VIEW. This sensing software adopts Modular Design, laying foundation for function development in the future. Several modules are involved in this software like hardware control module, data processing module and data management module, and several functions are achieved such as circulating capture process controlling, high speed data processing and analysis, data storage and warning. Meanwhile, it provides two interfaces to meet different experience needs:the end-user interface and the debugging-oriented testing interface. And results from a temperature measurement experiment show that the software meets the design requirements.
