In modern industrial production and scientific research, the use of the instrument very frequently. Although the development of digital instrument technology is very fast, but in our country, but it is long or pointer instrument occupies a very important position. The traditional instrument calibration are identified by reading the manual. Because the human eye vulnerable to subjective factors influence the observed distances, angles and visual fatigue easily lead to misunderstanding or misreading, and the processing of data of labor-intensive, low efficiency, in particular the work environment for test personnel also have some body hurt, security is not high, makes it impossible to keep up with the growing automation of modern information technology requirements. Instrumentation based on machine vision is a fundamental traditional instrumentation improvements, it can relieve subjective errors caused by manual inspection method. However, the current pointer instrument calibration identification technology there are still anti-interference ability, strong environmental limitations and other shortcomings. Based on this, the automatic verification pointer instrument of certain exploration.After viewing a number of domestic and foreign papers, the verification system for the current problem of poor anti-interference ability, made a number of improvements and new solutions. The main work is as follows:1.Instrumentation image preprocessing. According to the characteristics of the meter image, filtering the image necessary so that the calibration line and the pointer information strengthening, so as to be separated from the background. This paper proposes a method based on mean shift image noise removal instrument to achieve enhanced scale line and pointer information, highlighting the target area. This method can retain the edge information of the image.2.Instrumentation image segmentation.This article is taken segmentation Otsu. This method can be a good indicator of the segmented information and tick marks.3.Getting pointer rotation center. In this paper, single image extraction pointer rotation center, get contected ticks connectivity through an area threshold,_the calculated centroid tick,_tick using a least squares fit of the centroid method to get a pointer meter scale center.4.Meter reading research.In this paper,_the curvature of the instrument to achieve the indicated value of discrimination law interpretation,_this method can get more accurate pointer instrument readings.
