| Meter manufacturer and metrological service press for the calibration of meter with full-automation, high precision and high efficiency long time. The main reason is the system of meter calibration in corporation machine, light and electronics has bottleneck of technology. With the development of computer and image processing technique, the best method of the calibration of meter with full-automation, high precision and high efficiency is the method of combining with computer control, image processing, grating and high precision machine fastener. It has flexibility, high precision and easy adjustment. This paper puts forward a novel method of calibrating meter precision by applying image processing technique. It mainly discusses how to get real-time image data using CCD camera and also process those data for the calibration of meter on line. The meter image processing consists of image smoothing, image segmentation, edge detection and meter image analysis. At the same time, we present the processing result and comparisons of classical algorithm and optimum algorithm. As for the image calibration system always have measurement errors, this paper also analyzes the reason of errors and presents the methods of erasing errors. The automatic control system designed in this paper is the guarantee of automatic calibration of meter real time. Based on image processing technique, automatic real-time meter precision calibration system can assure high precision of meter calibration, improve the product efficiency, which is helpful to control the product cost for enterprise with practical value.
