The Xinmin newspaper is a famous modern Chinese private newspaper, which was founded in September9,1929in Nanjing by Mingde Chen who was from Sichuan province. When the Anti-Japanese War broke out, the Xinmin newspaper moved to Chongqing in January15,1938, which became the first republished newspaper at that time. The Chengdu edition of the Xinmin newspaper published in June18,1943, it became popular in a very short time. Late in the Anti-Japanese War, the Xinmin newspaper in Chongqing and Chengdu edition two day’s circulation peaked at100000copies, which is the largest amount for a newspaper. Shanghai evening journal of the Xinmin newspaper founded in May1,1946, and the newspaper formed five Clubs and Eighth Editions newspaper system, which never happened in the history of Chinese journalism.Chengdu Xinmin newspaper’s supplement Chushibiao was founded and grew during the period of the Anti Japanese War, its content and editorial style is very unique, it not only continues the Xinmin newspaper’s high standard consistently, but also shows its own characteristics.
