With the rapid development of science and technology, users’ product demand hasincreasingly diversified. To satisfy different users’ demand, manufacturers needed tocompleted product research as soon as possible, under which background rapid protyping(RP) technology came into being. Three dimensional printing (3DP) technology has asignificant advantage in space occupation, operation complexity, manufacturing cost, maintenance cost over other RP technologies, which means3DP has broader applicationprospects.Nowadays,3D Printers sold in the domestic market have defect such as largevolumn, low print accuracy, too much noise during printing, etc.Design and research of3DP system using fused depositing modeling (FDM) technology is carried out as a resultto solve these problems.First of all, a mechanical system which includes synchronous wheel-synchronous belt, screw–guide, heating block and wire feedding is designed according to FDM workingprinciple;Secondly,a hardware control plan with a motion controller at the core and peripheralcircuit to monitor temperature signals and status signals is designed.Related motioncontrol arithmetic is researched and mathematical models are set up in MATLAB.PIDcontrol is combined with DSP technology to improve the accuracy of motion control andtemperature control; In the end, function modules are subdivided, functions based on modular thought arecompiled in VC and combined into the software.A general design of3DP system for home users using FDM technology is completedin this project. The research method has certain engineering practicability.
