Backlash is the phenomenon of motor idling with no actual movement of the table,when the direction of motion axis changes in the transmission chain of machine tools.It will cause the positioning inaccuracy and make the system oscillate. When the motordrives the forward axis, the phenomenon of losing steps will occur. This will affect theability of the tools to get close to the target location, affect the accuracy of theworkpiece.This paper mainly studies closed-loop control system based on FPGA andmagnetic scale, measures the backlash and makes up the backlash and missing steps,the results have practical significance for improving the precision of laser processing.Firstly, this paper describes the background and significance of this subject,develops the overall system project, according to the research purpose, builds the dataprocessing circuit model, chooses the proper FPGA platform and feedback measuringdevice, designs the schematic of each part, analysis the immunity of this circuit, andmakes the printed board after placing and routing, debugs the circuit.Secondly, the system developed, according to the circuit module, includingsections of division,counter,filter, comparison, output.After integrating them to thesystem, the system simulation and debug is done, after the debugging, this study makesthe synthesis and layout, generates the logical netlist, downloads the code to the circuit,verifies the functions.Thirdly, this study makes the G programme to control the axis. After debuggingthe whole system at the machine tool, measuring the backlash and losing steps,compensating them to the system, it is found that the expected function has beenrealized.
