The Success Of Information Security Programs: An Investigation Of Project Management Process, Senior Management Support And User Acceptance

This study aims at determining factors influencing success of information securityprogram a case study of Barclays Bank Tanzania Limited. The study is expected to answerthe questions on the relationship between success factors for the information securityprograms as considered along four observable indicators namely: level of informationsecurity knowledge, level of user acceptance, level of management commitment and levelof adopting project management approach) on one hand against the success indicationswhich includes whether the company information security programs optimises funding,meets the organisation mission, create positive attitude in the organization and attain theprograms’ SMART objectivesThe testable hypotheses are formulated as follows:Knowledge and Awareness of Information Security are positively associated withorganisation’s success of its information security programs.Users’ Acceptances to complywith products of Information security Programs are positively associated withorganisation’s success of its information security programs.Senior management commitments to information security initiates are positivelyassociated with organisation’s success of its information security programs. Adoptions ofProject Management Approaches in managing information security programs arepositively associated with organisation’s success of its information security programs.The study will use both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Qualitativedata will be colleted through interviews Senior Management, IT Administrators, ITManagers and project managers while quantitative data will be collected through researchsurvey technique by sending questionnaires to random selected employees within thecompany. The collected data will be analysed by use of Statistical Package for SocialSciences (SPSS) software and applied a multiple linear regression analysis (MLRA)model, using the ordinary least square (OLS) estimation techniqueFinally null and alternative hypothesises will be tested to answer the research questionsand address the research objectives...
