Scientific computing visualization is a hot issue in the study of both at home and abroad, is a multidisciplinary cross field of study, it shows the essence of the abstract data in the form of graphics, images, and animation visual, and allows the researchers interacting with the data, so that researchers can get more intuitive understanding of the structure of the data, and study the implicit scientific laws in them. With the rapid development of information society, people face more and more data needed to be processed. Then a technology that can display the important details of the data quickly, visually is urgently needed. Scientific computing visualization allows observe, research data more intuitively.Scientific computing visualization technology has been widely applied in Scientific Computing, Geological Engineering, Medical Imaging, geology and other academic fields. One important application in the field of geological aspects is to draw and display seismic data. The traditional method of2D image or surface rendering just uses part of the3D seismic data to display the underground geological structure, such as seismic section and horizontal slice and so on, which makes it hard to visualize the underground geological structure vividly and completely. With the theory of3D spatial data field visualization applied to the interpretation of3D seismic data,3D explanation of3D seismic data can intuitively show you all the details of the surface and inner information of geological-mass. With the help of3D visualization result, the researchers will be able to get the underground geological structure quickly and comprehensively, Which helps to find the geological phenomena and oil-gas distribution hidden in the seismic data.Main contributions of the dissertation include:(1)The study of3D seismic data, introduce it’s collection,Study the standard format of it, and introduce the general organization and classification algorithm of it.(2)The research of the principle of volume rendering in detail, explains the volume rendering equation, the commonly used several optical model of volume rendering were studied.(3)Detailed studies on two typical algorithm of volume rendering light projection algorithm and shear deformation, The principle that two algorithm are applied to the seismic volume rendering were described in detail.(4)The ray casting algorithm is optimized based on the characteristics of3D seismic data.3D seismic data field visualization display system is realized on the basis of light projection algorithm. It can render a given3D seismic data to a image. It can display3D seismic data to the user in the form of three-dimensional body and or two-dimensional surface.
