The 3-D seismic data contains abundant information of terrane. In the past,there is notappropriate method which displays 3-D data, so people had to display 3-D seismic datawith many seismic sections and horizontal slices. This method leads to the loss of muchinformation,and people had realized this problem many years ago, therefore they advancedthe suggestion that explain 3-D data by using 3-D method.Scientific visualization is a kind of newly developed subject in the 1980s. It is basedon Computer Graphics and Image manipulation technology, and the calculation result willbe changed graphics image, which is displayed on the screen for interactive processing. Itgreatly improves the process speed and quality of calculated data, and realizes themodemization of scientific tool and environment. In the field of VISC, volume rendering isan important research topic, which has much research value and future application.This paper mainly researchs shear-warp algorithm of direct volume rendering invirtual reality,and introduces detailedly shear-warp algorithm which based on perspectiveprojection.Then,the process of performance is explained step by step .Furthermore, thispaper introduces virtual reality technology, and explains the principle which displays 3-Ddata. At last, the paper gives the process of virtual reality.
