Multi-touch technology is a new touch technology which is improving with the growing of IO hardware device technology. It extend operation point to multiple number other than the single traditional touch screen, which enable user to locate and move numbers of operation points via hands and enable the input of touch gesture and multiplayer cooperative interaction to be possible. This solution not only inherits the quick natural operation and feedback in the traditional touch screen, and improves the intelligence of interaction, collaboration and naturalness, but also enables the user’s input to have infinite possibilities, in addition, using both hands to operate can bring users a very natural and pleasant operating experience, thereby promoting the human-machine interface gradually transforms from GUI to NUI, in order to achieve a better human-computer interaction’. In this context, the paper researched the touch point gesture recognition and application of multi-touch, mainly completed work as follows:(1) The shortcomings of the traditional touch screen were analyzed, and a new technology of producing touch screen which is multi-touch technology was proposed.(2) According to the principle of multi-touch, at the hardware platform, the signal of touch point was collected.(3) The step of making a multi-touch device was proposed, using of framework and library related to software, touch point’s location and tracking were achieved.(4) Based on the analysis of touch point tracing, research gesture recognition method, finally, through writing program to make multi-touch be applied to other applications, so gestures can be linked with the application, this means gestures can control the application.
